Accompanying this YouTube video is one of the more interesting music-related metaphors I have ever encountered: Brian Eno as spatula (take that, MGMT). Here’s Californiamike2003:
I imagine in this song, Eno as a giant spatula, flipping and flipping those pancakes of sound. The maple syrup spills over my heart and my veins are clogged with the buttery synthetic textures. I laugh as I see all of the pretenders who comment on this song, who cannot understand the glorious flapjack majesty of it all.
Also, I keep posting about Eno! “The Big Ship” came on random this morning, and I almost lost it, y’all. I need a vacation.
